LESP President Bay Loste presides over 1st Board of Directors Meeting for 2021-2022

The Board of Directors of the Licensing Executives Society (LES) Philippines for the 2021-2022 term held its first organizational meeting today with Atty. Bayani B. Loste presiding via Zoom. Atty. Vida M. Panganiban-Alindogan assumed the President-Elect position, while Attorneys Reena Mitra-Ventanilla and Victor N. De Leon will continue with the Corporate Secretary and Treasurer portfolios, respectively.

Out-going LESP president Atty. Bienvenido A. Marquez III will co-chair the Asia-Pacific Committee of LES International.

LESP committee chairs updated the Board with upcoming events such as the Asia-Pacific Young Members Congress, which LESP will host on 26 November 2021, and the IP Licensing Course in coordination with the Philippine Intellectual Property Office’s IP Academy.

While discussing LESP's involvement in the revisions of the Intellectual Property Code, the Board resolved to create a working group to be headed by LESI past president Patricia A.O. Bunye so that members could study more closely the provisions pertinent to Prohibited and Mandatory Clauses of Voluntary Licensing under Republic Act No. 8293 and proposed changes to the Law on Copyrights. President Bay also presented his plan to consolidate and increase membership.
